Poetry Monday: Three Songs at the End of Summer by Jane Kenyon

The end of the summer is almost here.

While autumn doesn’t officially start until September 22, the end of the summer is usually signaled by the start of school in September. And even though many of us won’t start school until later, September is here!

In celebration of the last week of our summer program, this week’s poem is “Three Songs at the End of Summer” by Jane Kenyon, and you can read it HERE.

The poet uses a lot of images in this poem to help the reader see the end of summer, but these images also help us feel the end of summer. How does the poet feel about summer ending? Do you feel the same way?
